Event Report

Thanks to all our volunteers for their support and generosity in giving their time, expertise, and vehicles to create a one-of-a-kind learning opportunity.

Special thanks to Giff Beaton who loaned is cool Rivian truck for the event and to Eric Tucker at Monumental Ford of Darien who turned over the keys to the brand new F150 Lightning and let me serve coffee from the frunk.

We talked with about one hundred 6th grade students in three different groups through a presentation and Q&A session conducted by Alan Shedd followed by viewing a variety of EVs.  Interaction with the students by EV driver / owners made the event come to life for this next generation of EV drivers.

Thanks to Mr. Brooker, Mr. Hutcheson, and the entire MCMS team for providing the venue – it worked well.  We appreciated the opportunity to share a little of our passion for electric transportation.

Event Description

Students at McIntosh County Middle School will learn about electric transportation, see a variety of electric vehicles, and talk with owners about their experiences.   The EVent scheduled for the morning of April 22 will be held at McIntosh Middle School in Darien Georgia and is one of several Earth Day week activities in the community.
Students will participate in a presentation and discussion about electric vehicles, their impact on the environment, current and future developments, and career opportunities.  Next students will inspect a variety of EVs and be able to talk with their owners about what it's like to own and drive an EV and share their experiences.
While the EVent is for students of the Middle School, we welcome EV drivers to participate, show their vehicles and share their stories.
