Event Report
The E-Mobility Expo at San Luis Obispo's Earth Day Fair attracted hundreds of onlookers, with dozens getting behind the wheel of one of the Chevys, Mercedes, or Teslas available for test drives made possible by Chevy/Mercedes of SLO and the new Tesla showroom in town. Sixteen EVs populated the Showcase area, many brought to the event by private owners eager to share their driving electric experience with curious attendees. Models on display included Tesla Model X and 3, Chevy Blazer and Bolt EUV, Mercedes EQS, Rivian R1S, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Nissan Leaf, and Kia Niro EV. Pedego of Pismo brought an array of electric bikes to show and offered test rides, reminding attendees that not all electric vehicles have four wheels!The event was sponsored through generous contributions of the City of San Luis Obispo, the Central Coast Clean Cities Coalition, and the SLO County Air Pollution Control District. Rick Engineering donated racks for the Bike Valet and the Cal Poly SLO College Corps program provided over a dozen volunteers to help set up displays, park cars, serve as bike valets, and staff the information booth. SLOCOG's Rideshare program's booth encouraged folks to not only drive an EV, but consider using EVs in carpools...reducing not only GHG emission but also reducing traffic on the bust streets of our region.

WELCOME TO THE 2024 SAN LUIS OBISPO
EARTH DAY E-MOBILITY EXPO
The E-Mobility Expo will be part of a larger Earth Day festival that includes live music, kid's activities, food and dozens of vendor and environmental organization booths. So plan on spending several hours with us and bring the whole family! The E-Mobility portion of the festival will include over a dozen privately owned EVs, showcased by their owners who will be there to answer all your questions about driving electric. We will also have cars from Tesla, Mercedes and Chevy availble for test drives. And if you are interested in experiencing the joy of effortless cycling, make sure to take a test ride on one of the e-bikes from Pedego of Pismo! If you own an EV and want to be part of the showcase, please register as a participant.
