On Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2023, the Scottsdale Electric Vehicle Association joined forces with the Town of Carefree, Arizona, to host an Earth Day Celebration to remember!
In conjunction with many other vendors and stewards of the environment, the Scottsdale EVA hosted both a static vehicle display and ride-alongs for anyone curious, knowledgeable, or skeptical about EV’s. This EVent was conducted as a “Drive Electric Earth Day” event, coordinated by Plug In America (“PIA”).
Myths were busted, exhilarating rides taken, conversations spoken and friendships made.
John Crane, Mayor of Carefree, took a ride in a Yacht Blue Kia EV6, owned and hosted by Scottsdale EVA member and DEED coordinator, John Morrill. Thank you, John(s) for your participation in this year’s event!
2023 Earth Day, coincidentally or not, marks the 1-year anniversary of the founding of Scottsdale EVA chapter – happy birthday to our chapter!

Event Description
The Scottsdale Electric Vehicle Association is hosting an EV display and ride-along event, in conjunction with the Town of Carefree Earth Day Celebration.
In honor of Earth Day, the Town of Carefree, Arizona will host a free community event on Saturday, April 22rd, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion in the Carefree Desert Gardens. This FREE, family-friendly event will feature local Arizona organizations to help educate and empower our community to take better care of our Sonoran Desert, planet, and each other.
The Earth Day event will feature live presentations, hands-on activities, information on birds, reptiles, plants native to our area and water management. Scottsdale EVA's vehicle display and ride-alongs will be centered around community engagement and education. Come learn how driving an EV impacts your everday life, and the boundless benefits it brings to improving air quality in communities like Carefree.
