Event Report

Our DEED EVent was a great success with the most variety of EVs that the Houston EVA has had at a drive electric EVent so far!  The success of this EVent was in large part to IKEA Houston providing their outdoor storefront for the Houston EVA to host the DEED EVent.  The IKEA space allowed us to display 18 EVs with ample space for vehicles to be opened up for attendees to easily browse inside and outside of the vehicles.  The space was also next to the store’s two ChargePoint EVSEs.  IKEA also displayed the DEED flyer on their large electronic billboard that could be seen from Interstate 10.

Our EVent had 1 - BMW i3, 1 - BMW i4, 2 - Chevy Bolts, 1 - Ford Mustang Mach-E, 1 - Hyundai IONIQ 5, 2 - KIA EV6s, 2 - Lucid Air Dreams, 1 - Polstar 2, 2 - Rivian R1Ss, 2 - Tesla Model 3s, 1 - Tesla Model X, 1 - Tesla Model Y, and 1 - Volkswagen ID.4!  Big thanks to the EV owners for their time and efforts to make this EVent a great success!  Special thanks to the Polstar Houston dealership for bringing the Polstar 2 to add to the EV diversity!  Photos of this EVent can be found posted to the Houston EVA Facebook page or on OneDrive.

Houston EVA has hosted EVents at IKEA in past years, but DEED 2023 was the first EVent at IKEA again since after the COVID pandemic.  IKEA was not prepared for us to offer ride-alongs during this year’s DEED EVent.   However, when we have future EVents at IKEA, we will plan to offer ride-alongs for those EV owners that are willing to drive attendees around.

Come check out the newest models available along with affordable older models, and conversions! Speak with the owners directly, ask them any questions you have. There won't be any salespeople to pressure you. This is a very family friendly event.
