Event Report

The Spacecoast Electric Vehicle Association held its Earth Day event at the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne, Florida on April 22nd. There were 75 electric vehicles on display from individuals and 10 automobiles from various dealers. One of the highlights of the show was Malcolm Bricklin bringing his incredible 3EV prototype car. (https://www.vvcars.com/) People were amazed by its design and affordable price. Another highlight was the appearance of Lucid Motors. They brought two amazing Lucid automobiles from their “Dream Ahead Tour.” (https://ir.lucidmotors.com/news-releases/news-release-details/lucid-announces-2023-dream-ahead-tour-opportunity-drive-award)

The American Muscle Car Museum (https://www.americanmusclecarmuseum.com/) was the perfect place to hold the venue. It is the largest solar-powered automobile museum in the world. The museum also has the ability to set-up and run a small test track where individuals were given the chance to experience rides in several electric automobiles. This proved to be the most beneficial experience for people interested in learning more about the benefits of electric vehicles. There were over 112 test track rides given. The Lucid Air Grand Touring was the favorite among the participants.

The event this year was over twice as large as the previous year. The addition of new manufactures and increased production of electric cars available contributed to this rise in participation and interest. We feel next years event will be even greater and are excited to see what new vehicles are on the horizon. It has already been booked for April 20, 2024. All of this would not have been possible if it weren’t for the help and contribution from the Electric Vehicle Association. Thanks.

The Spacecoast Electric Vehicle Association invites you to attend the Drive Electric Earth Day celebration at the beautiful American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne, Florida.  This event is free and open to the public.  Come see dozens of examples of electric automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles. You will be able to ask questions about electric vehicles and test drive many models.  The event is Saturday, April 22nd, from 10:00-2:00.  Food and drinks will be provided. Update: Malcolm Bricklin and his 3EV (https://www.vvcars.com/) will be attending.
