Event Report

On Saturday, April 23, 2022, an electric car exhibit was staged during the Earth Day Festival and Plant Sale at Springs Preserve museum complex.  A dozen electric car models were exhibited and accompanied by their owners who related their ownership experiences to interested attendees. Electric car models included an original Tesla Roadster, Tesla Model S, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model X, Lucid Air Dream, Jaguar i-Pace, Chevrolet Bolt, Chevrolet Spark EV, Nissan LEAF, Ford Mustang Mach E, Jeep Wrangler 4XE Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, 1987 Mitsubishi Mighty Max electric truck conversion, and a DeLorean DMC electric car conversion.

On Sunday, April 24, 2022, the Las Vegas Electric Vehicle Association staffed an exhibit table that featured educational information about electric cars and charging station infrastructure within the state of Nevada. The electric car educational exhibit was part of a Climate Solutions Forum discussion, that was hosted by the Las Vegas chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby.  

Speakers and other exhibitors during the forum included Nevada Assemblyman Howard Watts; Samantha Baker, Manager of the All-In Clark County Sustainability Program; Kirsten Stasio, Executive Director of the Nevada Clean Energy Fund; a speaker from Climate Reality Project; Les Lazareck, Manager of the Home Energy Connection, Sierra Club Toiyabe Chapter representatives, Friends of Nevada Wilderness and others.

Event Description

 

Event organizers for Drive Electric Earth Day in Las Vegas, NV are planning an electric car exhibit by local EV owners to provide educational resources for prospective EV buyers. Information will be available about ownership experiences, charging station usage and installation, residential solar power and residential energy storage equipment.

An electric car display will be staged outdoors on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Springs Preserve museum, as part of an Earth Day Festival.

The location address is: Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89107

There will be an admission fee for attendees of $9.95 for adults, $4.95 for children (ages 3 -17) and free admission for children under 2 years of age. Admission tickets to this event will allow access to all the different facilities within the museum complex, that will also feature other Earth Day exhibits.  Tickets can be reserved online at the Springs Preserve website at: https://www.springspreserve.org/visitor-information/tickets.html

On Sunday, April 24, 2022, Citizens Climate Lobby will be hosting an educational forum within the Springs Preserve museum complex from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM.  An exhibit table will be staffed by the Las Vegas Electric Vehicle Association that will provide educational materials about EVs and charging station infrastructure.

This educational event on Sunday, April 24th, is free and open to the general public, without a museum admission charge.
