Muskegon Event Has Been Canceled.

Dear West Michigan EV Enthusiast,

Based on the message we received from the national Drive Electric Earth Day (DEED) organization (below), we are cancelling the Muskegon DEED event.

Safety is the top priority for all of our efforts to educate the public about the benefits of electric vehicles (EVs). Due to the widespread risk that the coronavirus (COVID-19) poses to the general public, the national Drive Electric Earth Day (DEED) team has made the difficult decision that all in-person DEED events should be moved to an online format, postponed, or cancelled.

We've been paying close attention to the rapidly changing situation and best advice of health experts to contain community spread of the virus. This difficult decision was based on the recent safety recommendations from government officials and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which stated that all gatherings of 10 people or more throughout the United States be postponed or cancelled.

I know this is disappointing, but cancelling the event is the right thing to do.

In the meantime, you can stay in touch with the West Michigan EV community a number of ways:

- Sign up for the Electric Auto Association.  We have just started a Southwest Michigan EAA chapter that should soon appear on the EAA map.  Even if you choose not to become a paying member, please consider registering on the site and we can keep you abreast of events.

- Follow our West Michigan EV Enthusiast Group:

Assuming the virus runs its course by this fall, stay tuned to the National Drive Electric Week page for future events in September:

Thanks again for your support!
