Event Report

Mostly gray day, definitely on the cool side, but still a successful event in a wonderful setting.  We are very grateful for the help and support of the Kalamazoo Nature Center who allowed us the use of the entire lower parking lot for the second consecutive year on Earth Day.  Special thanks also to our local utility, Consumers Energy, for bringing two EVs, a level 2 charger example, and abundant resources regarding their various EV charging incentive programs.
Teslas were outnumbered by Bolts, which is unusual for us.  We had first generation Bolts, but they were joined by multiple examples of the updated versions, both EV and EUV.  As usual, the Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E were very popular.  A local used car dealer brought a 2012 Nissan Leaf from the lot which was for sale at a very reasonable price.
Thanks to all of the local EV drivers who came out despite the dreary weather.

Event Description

All are invited to join us at Kalamazoo's beautiful Nature Center, starting at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 22!  We'll have vehicles on display in the lower parking lot, near the Center's level 2 charging station.  General public is welcome.  The KNC is waiving admission fees all day to help celebrate Earth Day 2023.  This event sponsored by the Kalamazoo Electric Vehicle Association, and the SW Michigan chapter of the national EVA.

If you are an EV driver who would like to show their vehicle, please sign up on this page.  We'll have room for about a dozen vehicles at a given time, and can rotate them in and out if we get lots of volunteers.  Variety of models is appreciated.  Note that the very old Chargepoint unit may be kaput (https://www.plugshare.com/location/4113).
