Event Report

In the Center of beautiful and historic Cazenovia, NY the Drive Electric Earth Day event showcased 25 electric vehicles and their owners sharing the fun, clean air benefits, and cost savings of driving electric. In addition to the usual Teslas and Chevy Bolts, there were some rarer vehicles including two BMW CE-04 motorcycles, a BMW i3, a Fiat 500e, a Ford F-150 Lightning, a Ford Focus Electric, a Nissan Leaf Plus, and a Mini Cooper SE. The KIA EV6 and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 were very popular models.

The event was included under the umbrella of the United Climate Action Network (UCAN) Earth Day Celebration.

Event Description

 

Event Overview:

Organized and run by Electric Vehicle owners, Cazenovia (and all of Central New York State) takes part in Drive Electric Earth Day, a free event held at Memorial Park, also known as Cannon Park, in Cazenovia. Enter an address of 42 Albany Street, Cazenovia into your GPS to get directions. The event will be held on Saturday April 22nd from noon until 4 pm. and is open to the public. Electric vehicle owners and enthusiasts will display their vehicles, answer your questions, and highlight the fun, clean-air benefits, and cost-savings of electric cars.


This event is being held as part of "Earth Day 2023" organized by the United Climate Action Network (UCAN) in Cazenovia, NY. More detail about the many activities and organizations involved can be found here.


Information for Electric Vehicle Owners:

Registered owners please report to Memorial Park at 42 Albany Street no later than 11:30 am - See map 1 below. Look for someone to help check you in near the East end of the park as you drive in. See map 2 below. Note: There are two free Level 2 chargers that do not require an app to operate less than 1/2 mile away at Lakeland Park. Two more are about a mile and a quarter away at Meir's Brewery. The nearest DCFC chargers are in the East Syracuse area about 15 miles away.


You can choose to allow test rides and/or test drives if you're interested. More detail will be provided at the event.

Parking for visitors:

Public Parking is available on Cazenovia Village streets where signs permit it. Please check the signs carefully. Some nearby parking is short term only. There are also public parking lots nearby, including a large lot behind the Cazenovia Library at 7 Riverside Drive.
