Event Report

This is the first time EVs have been shown at the Bishop California Earth Day.

We had continuous foot traffic and conversations. There was a display and table staffed by two people to give out informative handouts. We had seven cars, three makes and five models on display.  I used the stage microphone and invited everyone to come to our exhibit.  We had pastries in the morning and gave away 8 boxes of free pizza at noon. There were free sodas all day long. We had 2 feather signs, we had several Plug in America signs and two "Love Forests? Drive Electric" signs.  We gave out all the Nissan backpacks and shopping bags. There were drawings and 30 people won prizes. We were able to promote a lot of good will towards electric vehicles that day. People really appreciated being able to look close up and sit in electric cars.

Our small club had 100% engagement from our local members.

* Rivian R1T, Bruce Miller

* Tesla Model 3, Sharon Geiken

* Tesla Model Y, Howard Johnson

* Tesla Model Y, Lynn Bolton

* Tesla Model 3, Carol and Steve Scott

* Mustang Mach E, Kay Ogden

* Tesla Model S, Liz and Loren Lafferty

Unfortunately there were no roads inside the park where we were assigned. If we were to relocate somewhere else we would miss the participants.

We seized this opportunity to engage and spend more time one on one with our attendees! Howard Johnson estimated he talked with 3 dozen individuals showing them and telling them all about his EVs and EVs in general.  He said, several people became seriously interested in buying an EV.  Bruce Miller’s Rivian was very popular. I watched him talking and showing his Rivian from 9 am til 5:30 pm.  Kay Ogden talked about how to find chargers for non Teslas.

This was our best electric vehicle showing in the Bishop area. Next year will be even better. We plan to offer rides at our next event.
