This year, VCREA was invited to participate in Fillmore’s Earth Day celebration at their city hall. The event featured a community yard sale, live music, information & retail booths (Earth Day related), food trucks, kids activities, and an EV showcase. 

The static EV showcase displayed a variety of electric vehicles to the public from luxury cars to affordable family cars. VCREA partnered with MICOP to contribute a Chrysler Pacifica to the showcase. Attendees were encouraged to explore the interior of the van, ask questions, and learn about the benefits of owning an EV.  Representatives the local EV Advocates organization and VCREA’s EV Coach were on hand to provide information on charging stations, incentives, and other resources to support EV ownership.  

VCREA staffed an informational booth alongside the EV display with knowledgeable and bilingual individuals. The booth offered a variety of giveaways aimed at attracting kids and their parents, which proved to be a popular draw. Attendees were surprised to learn about the wide range of rebates available for EV purchases, and the EV Guides proved to be a popular take-home item as many visitors were pleasantly surprised by the diversity of EV models available. Common questions centered around topics such as vehicle range, battery life, and concerns regarding battery waste. 

Overall, the event was a great opportunity for individuals to discover the many advantages of electric vehicles and take the first step towards becoming EV drivers.
