Event Report

Most of the visitors to the event were interested in buying an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. Some were interested in buying a used vehicle. All really wanted to see the Rivian truck, which was registered but did not show up. In fact, 11 of the registered vehicles did not attend and did not communicate with organizers. Fortunately, we had a Model Y towing a pop-up camping trailer that was a great interest to those attending, and the Ford Mach-E also proved to be very popular. A Chevy Bolt and a Tesla Model 3 provided some thrilling ride-along opportunities. Staff at the Express Credit Union and Seattle City Light tables answered lots of questions, and the Seattle Electric Vehicle Association booth provided lots of charging advice. And it didn't rain, like last year! The weather was cool and breezy but party sunny.

Visitors got lots of answers about financing and charging electric vehicles at tables staffed by Express Credit Union and Seattle City Light, as well as volunteers with the Seattle Electric Vehicle Association.

Event Description

An exhibit of several electric vehicles, both production and conversion, is presented by Express Credit Union and volunteers with the Seattle Electric Vehicle Association in partnership with Plug-In America. It is easier than you think to ditch gas and go electric! Today's electric vehicles offer so many choices: big or small, long-range or around-town range, new or used, sporty or sensible. But they all share some common things - they are clean, quiet, very inexpensive to fuel and maintain, and fun to drive! Volunteers EV owners at this event will share their cars and their personal experiences and help you decide what will work best for your driving needs. Whether or not you have a place to plug in your car at home, SEVA members can give you expert advice about charging. They can even help you with the process for converting your gas-guzzler to a clean electric drive train. Express Credit Union staff can help you with your financing questions and talk about the wrap around support they can provide to new EV owners. With Seattle's carbon-neutral electric utility and cheap electric rates, the city is the best place in the country to drive electric. save money and prevent pollution!

Find us in the parking lot behind the Greenbridge Community Center, at the corner of SW 97th Street and 7th Avenue SW, in Southwest Seattle.
