Event Report

This event was sponsored by JEA Drive Electric, an EV education, awareness, and off-peak charging program of JEA.  JEA is the seventh largest municipal utility in the nation, and is committed to improving the lives of people in our community.  Efficient passenger and fleet transportation electrification was on display today with JTA's autonomous vehicle, Ollie, and one of their full sized electric buses.  Attendees also rode in and observed electric freight moving vehicles manufactured by Cenntro.  JEA displayed examples of its light and medium sized electric fleet vehicles.

Local dealerships brought ten of the newest EVs for Ride & Drives.  Special thanks are due to the Tom Bush family of dealerships for the consistent support of transportation electrification in Northeast Florida.  Arcimoto was also onsite with one of the most efficient vehicles on the market.

Events like this one demonstrate that Ride & Drive events drive awareness and sales of electric vehicles.  Consumers at all points on the journey from ICE vehicle owner to EV owner were engaged, educated, and moved towards EV ownership.  Through local media and social media channels we see that around 800,000 customers became aware of the event.  This event was about four times larger than the NDEW event in October 2020.  That event was the largest in the Southeastern US.  This event appears to have bee the largest DEED event in the entire US!  Wow, look at Jacksonville!
