Event Report
Despite cool weather, visitors to The Van Aken District in Shaker Heights enjoyed strolling down Walker Road, closed to traffic for the Drive Electric Earth Day event. Sixteen vehicles, including the Porsche Taycan (thanks to Porsche Beachwood), all Tesla models, the Mini Cooper SE, Chevy Bolts, and various other models. Thanks to the members of Drive Electric Northeast Ohio for sharing their time, vehicles, and passion.

Event Description
Whether you're curious about electric vehicles or you've driven electric for a while, join us at The Van Aken District on Saturday, April 17th for Drive Electric Earth Day. We will have a dedicated outdoor area for a wide range of vehicles - including the Shaker Heights Recreation Department's new Chevy Bolt - from 11am through 1pm. The Van Aken District is located at the intersection of Chagrin Boulevard and Warrensville Center Road, conveniently accessible from I-271 and I-480.
The City of Shaker Heights is supporting the transition to electric vehicles by adding an EV to the city fleet and opening seven new charging ports at four locations throughout the city just this year. More chargers may be in the works - come and find out!
The event will be held outdoors on Walker Road, which will be closed to traffic, allowing for ample spacing between cars for social distancing. This is between Mitchell's Ice Cream and Cleveland Clothing, with all of the District's restaurants nearby for lunch. From family-friendly Nature's Oasis to the outdoor patios of Michael's Genuine or Brassica, there is a wide range of options including the various stalls in The Market Hall, where you'll find everything from pizza to sushi to vegan options.
