Hamden Event Has Been Canceled.

The April 5th Quinnipiac University Spring Car Show has been cancelled because of the coronavirus. We hope to see you at next year’s event and at National Drive Electric Week events in the Fall.

Electrify Your Drive!

The Qunnipiac University (QU) Car Club Third Annual Spring Car Show will feature a Drive Electric Earth Day (DEED) component displaying the latest models of electric vehicles (EVs), including high-performance EVs. This EV showcase will also include EV owners and drivers who will display their vehicles and discuss how they use them on their daily commutes and longer-distance drives, as well as how they charge the cars’ batteries. Attendees will also be updated about special-savings programs for Connecticut EV drivers, including state rebates and federal tax credits, for purchasing and leasing electric vehicles.

Participants will learn about the differences between electric vehicles and conventional gas-powered cars (including why EVs are much less expensive to operate and maintain), the widespread locations and different types of charging stations, the wide range of EV models available now, and the benefits of electric vehicles for the environment and for public health.

High-performance sports cars, sedans, SUVs, and even pickups are now or soon to be available in EV format, many with longer (over-200-mile) driving ranges. The DEED EV Showcase at the QU Spring Car Show will feature some of the latest EV models, including Porsche Taycan; Audi e-tron; Tesla Models S, X and 3; Jaguar i-Pace; Subaru Crosstrek PHEV; Hyundai Kona and Ionique; Chevrolet Bolt; Kia Niro EV; and BMW i3.

A limited number of spaces for EV owners is available in the VIP section, where cars will be grouped with the latest EV models from dealers and the EV information tent. A per-car fee of $25.00 is required to park in this VIP section of the show. EV owners can also display in the general-show parking area for a fee of $20.00. The fee for attendees of the show (those who are not displaying their car) is $5.00.
