Drive Electric Earth Month

Drive Electric Earth Month
Victoria, BC
Apr 17-18, 2020
* Event Canceled *

Victoria Event Has Been Canceled.

Join us on a 200 km coastal EV road trip over the Malahat Mountain and back! Our volunteer EV owners will share their cars with local guests on a trek to an innovative carbon sequestration project at Empress Acres near Nanaimo. It'll be the kind of sublime highway experience that's only possible when you're Driving Electric!

Attendees will ride with us for the day (3 hours on the road and 2 hours at the farm), departing from the traditional territories of the Wsanec, Esquimalt and Songhees Peoples in the Greater Victoria area (pick up location to be announced). As our guests in an EV motorcade, they'll make the 100 km road trip to Empress Acres where we'll join other EV owners and Earth-huggers and have a chance to drive a variety of EVs. As a bonus they'll see other ways that people on Vancouver Island are tackling climate change with lifestyle innovations and new product ideas!

On the return trip our guests will have the chance to experience a different EV as passengers and share their impressions of the day with their host driver. (There are no strangers, only friends who we've yet to meet.)

The event runs for two days (Friday, April 17th and Saturday April 18th) with a fresh roster of drivers and guests each day.  Guests who sign up for the experience in advance will ride with us on one of the two days.

A suggested $10 (5 cents/ km) donation per guest will help us defer the costs of care and feeding of our volunteer drivers (meals, refreshments and away-from-home EVcharging costs). Donations will be accepted at the time of pick up from the departure location in Victoria on the morning of the 17th and 18th.
