The GDA is the first program of its kind in the U.S. that its members are audited for their sustainability processes and policies, with major attention given to the elimination of Styrofoam and plastic straws, as well as water conservation, reduced electricity usage, and more.

The St. Louis Earth Day Festival utilizes Green2Go propane generators (75% reduction of Co2 emissions)and is a carbon neutral event, with electricity use that is offset by wind Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and its attendee carbon footprint reduced by supporting alternative transportation methods to the event via bicycling, shuttle service, e-Cab service and walking.

St. Louis Earth Day program, Recycling On the Go (ROG), the first event greening recycling service in the St. Louis Metro Area, collects recyclables and compost items from the GDA restaurant food vendors. In 2018, the Festival reached it's second highest waste diversion rate of 92% of waste kept out of the landfill!

The Earth Day Challenge is a fun way to learn, do something helpful for the environment and win a prize.
