Event Report
There were 6 Tesla Model 3s, one AWD.
There was a Tesla Model X, and 2 Tesla Model Ss, one AWD.
There were 3 Chevrolet Bolt EVs.
There was 1 Nissan LEAF II (150-miles range).
There was 1 Ford Focus Electric.
Due to limited parking spaces we could not invite any PHEVs.
We had the BEV Show from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center in the parking lot where 2 food trucks serve lunches to researchers and staff.
A photographer/reporter for The Roanoke Times came and took many pictures and talked to several of the BEV drivers.
One Tesla Model 3 had recently been bought used in Seattle Washington and driven across the U.S. to southwest Virginia by the wife of the couple who bought it.
One Chevrolet Bolt EV was driven from Louisa County Virginia, a distance of 200 miles, to be in the Show.
The driver of the Nissan LEAF II lives in an apartment house with no charging station in Roanoke VA, about 45 miles away. He CHAdeMO charges it at no cost about once a week at First Team Nissan where he bought the LEAF.

Event Description
Join us to learn more about electric cars and talk to owners who have made the switch to driving electric! There will be two food trucks at the event and the electric cars will be behind the food trucks. If you are bringing an electric car, please bring signs about your car.
So far, the following cars are planned to be there:
Tesla Model S, Tesla Model S AWD, Tesla Model X AWD, 2 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD, 2 Chevrolet Bolt EV, 2018 Nissan LEAF.
We are allowed only 9 BEVs in this event because we have only 9 parking spaces. In September's Drive Electric Week BEV show we will have space for a large number of BEVs & PHEVs. If you have such an EV and are willing to show it in September, contact Dave Roper ([email protected]) so he can inform you of the date, time and location of that Drive Electric Week show later.
